Maintenance
The correct maintenance of your folding doors and sliding doors reduces wear, improves smoothness of operation and further protects against corrosion.
We recommend that fittings are washed with soap or a mild detergent and warm water, rinsed with clean cold water and then dried with a soft cloth on a regular basis. As a guide if the door or window needs washing then wash the hardware. Afterwards the fittings can also be sprayed with a corrosion preventative such as WD40. Make sure not to get anything on the timber frame since this may cause staining.
A small amount of white petroleum jelly should be applied regularly to the inner lip of each side of the track. Make sure the wheels pass through the lubricant so that it is distributed evenly along the track. Put additional lubricant around the bearings.
The bottom track should be vacuumed on a regular basis to ensure it is kept clear of debris, which may prevent the doors from working properly.
Please ensure drainage holes in the cill are kept clear at all times.
